All salaries / subsidies

The salary over the period of each employee is used for this calculation. If you have this figure on a weekly basis, simply multiply it by the number of weeks of subsidy. If you have the monthly salary, it must be multiplied by 12 and divide by 52 then multiply by the number of weeks of subsidy. If the amount every 2 weeks is normally used, simply divide it by 2 then multiply by the number of weeks of subsidy.

Are you eligible?

This 75% emergency Canadian employee wage subsidy is an exceptional measure and the period during which you are entitled to the subsidy is from March 15, 2020 to July 4, 2020 due to the problems related to the COVID-19 coronavirus. This is retroactive.

Eligible employers in Canada must experience a decrease in their gross earnings of a minimum of 15% to 30% based on the corresponding months in 2019 for the months of March (15%), April, May and June 2020. This grant requires no limit or minimum from business income. The only exception is public sector entities.

Visit The Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy for more information or to apply online.

Maximum amounts

The maximum amount of subsidy per employee is $ 847 / week. This gives you the possibility of obtaining a 75% subsidy on the equivalent of the portion of the maximum annual salary of $ 58,725 in wages paid.

There is no maximum amount per employer, which means that 100% of 75% of wages are covered.

Note that subsidy are taxable and considered part of taxable income. This reduces the amounts eligible for other federal tax credits.

You will not be eligible for this subsidy if you have laid off even if it is only a temporary termination of employment.

This Canada-wide measure will require $ 71 billion in government spending.
