On january 2018 no changes was made to the HST, PST and GST of any province or territory in Canada.

Harmonized tax calculation for all the provinces of Canada

Regarding the sale of books, only the GST must be taken into consideration in this type of calculation, the provincial sales tax (PST) should be excluded. However, in some provinces, the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) must be used.

Calculation of the harmonized tax between 2008 and 2010
